Abstract The stress distribution function in the surface layer is created as a result of using measurements on surfaces C45 steel samples after shot peening. Stresses were measured by X-ray diffraction with use PSF-3M device from Rigaku Company. For measuring residual stresses, subsequent layers top material used basis, and these obtained through electrochemical etching. test results i.e. distance into material, sample hardness, type, stress) entered stepwise multiple regression program. A record stresses was form second-degree three independent variables interactions. analytical FUNVAL3.EXE program to calculate tabular values permeating material. description distribution, REGPOLY.EXE used, which creates polynomial functional distribution. plot EXCEL Microsoft Office 2000
